Depending on the number of entries the New Horizons will be spread over both the Saturdayand Sunday this year. We will show a block of NH entries along with a block of Great Northern entries in each session.

If time permits, 'Attendee Sequences' will be shown for discussion and advice before the competitions begin.

The Howard Gregory Trophy

The Howard Gregory Trophy
This year we have a new trophy in memory of Howard to be awarded for The Most Creative Soundtrack’

All entries in both the Great Northern and the New Horizons competitions will be eligible for this award.

The Judges will be looking for the best use of all the elements that have been blended together creatively to produce a soundtrack that compliments and enhances the Sequence

Unfortunately we will not be able to post out this trophy, so you will have to attend to be able to receive it! (Although you can still win it)
In addition it will only be held for 12 months and must be returned in time for the following year’s competitions.

Entries and Booking

Entries & Bookings are now being accepted for the 22nd Great Northern Festival.

Don't worry if your sequence is not yet finished, you can still book to attend now.
Just put '
Details to follow' as the Sequence Title (and the Title if you know it).
If you have an idea of the finished Time then please put that, otherwise just put the Maximum - i.e. 6 or 12 minutes.

You can send us the final details along with your sequence in time for the Closing Date which is the
1st November.

Remember that all 'New Horizons' entries will receive constructive feedback from the Judges. This will be verbal on the day, so that all present will gain something from the feedback.

We hope that this will help entrants to improve their work for future events and competitions. It should also help those not entering this time to gain valuable pointers as to what makes the winning entries better than the others.

Entrants will also receive written feedback for their own entry after the event.

'Great Northern' entrants will receive a grade 'A, B, or C' from the Judges after the event.
